Hiking at Schweitzer or
out in the rugged Selkirks

Join our licensed guides for a day or more of hiking and fishing around one of North America's best forests!
Still called native habitat by threatened species like the grizzly bear and as few as 20 of the last Woodland Caribou in the lower 48, the
southern extention of Selkirks Mountains in the northern Idaho panhandle are the last Rocky sub-range harboring complete pockets of intact ecosystems. Here still exists the top predators and the low-living native fish co-existing in some awesome old-growrth groves and genuinely remote areas.
All About Adventures, Inc. is permitted to hike into over 198,000 acres of pristine high moiuntain areas including the Woodland Caribou Recovery Zone and the ever expanding Grizzley range. Come with us and enjoy this wonderful mountain range.

If you are visiting up at Schweitzer Mountain Resort join us on one of our specialty Theme Hikes using
Schweitzer's 'Great Escape' chairlift
which whisks us right upto the 6400' Selkirk Crest in as little as 7 minutes!
From up there the Selkirk Crest lays out before us north to south for 60 miles!
Which way do you want to go? What do you want to see? What do you want to learn? How much do you want to sweat?
The soon to be famous Hidden Huckleberry Hikes will lead you and your group to the freshest huckleberry picking spots on Schweitzer Mountain. There we can turn our fingers and tongues purple and then tell anyone who asks that we got 'skunked'! Ha. Good from August to October! Our Explorer Hikes follow canadian fur trapper and cartographer David Thompson and the Kalispell Indians as they collected the pelts which made up the components of the very first commercial parcel to leave the Pacific Northwest! From the Selkirk Crest we can also lookdown into the basins which endured the largest floods in our world's history! Our Great Lake Missoula Hikes observe the effects of the giant walls of water which came from behind the crumbling 2000ft foot ice dam(s) on the Clark Fork River. Animally speaking, on Selkirk Species Hikes we'll tromp just about anywhere to examine the crest for signs and evidence of Pine Marten, bear, deer, moose, fish and birds. Home to many critters, some which are endangered,
the magical, remote mountain chain makes for great wildlife viewing. Professional photographers such as Doug Marshall, Woods Wheatcroft and Chris Guilbert live right here in Sandpoint and are totally hirable for hiking, teaching photography and shooting scenes from these peaks. Choose our Photography Hikes and let us arrange a photographer to join us in the field for a fun and exciting photo session. Lastly, our Colburn Basin Fishing Hikes lets you enjoy a mountainous decent to Colburn Lake for a chance at catching the fat stocked trout in this pnvate mountain-side alpine lake.
From the top of Schweitzer the world is our oyster;
Bring your cameras, fishing poles or huckleberry buckets and your sturdy shoes, we'll provide the guide and the transportation to get you out there and back.
